🔍 PEER REVIEW POLICY
Srinagar Law Journal follows a selective editorial and peer-assisted review process to ensure the quality, accuracy, and relevance of contributions.
While the Journal remains primarily a law reporting publication, scholarly submissions such as articles, case comments, and analytical notes may, at the discretion of the Editorial Board, be subjected to peer review.
⚖️ NATURE OF REVIEW
- Submissions may undergo single-blind peer review, wherein the identity of the reviewer is not disclosed to the author.
- The review process is intended to assess:
- Legal accuracy and analytical soundness
- Originality and contribution to legal discourse
- Clarity of expression and structure
- Relevance to the jurisdiction of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh
🧾 EDITORIAL DISCRETION
- The decision to refer a submission for peer review shall rest solely with the Editorial Board.
- Not all submissions will necessarily undergo external peer review, particularly where:
- The submission pertains to reporting of judgments
- The Editorial Board considers internal review sufficient
- The Editorial Board reserves the right to accept, reject, or request revisions independent of peer review recommendations.
✍️ REVISION PROCESS
- Authors may be required to revise submissions in light of reviewer comments.
- Revised submissions may be subject to further review before final acceptance.
⏳ TIMELINES
- While reasonable efforts shall be made to ensure timely review, the Journal does not guarantee a fixed review period.
- Authors are advised to allow adequate time for the editorial process.
🔐 CONFIDENTIALITY
- All submissions are treated as confidential documents.
- Reviewers are expected to maintain strict confidentiality and not to use or disclose any part of the manuscript.
