Submission Guidelines
Srinagar Law Journal (SLJ)
[Overview]
The Srinagar Law Journal invites original and high-quality submissions from advocates, academicians, researchers, and students of law.
We aim to publish work that contributes meaningfully to legal scholarship, judicial understanding, and practical application of law, with particular relevance to Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh, while maintaining national and comparative perspectives.
[Categories of Submissions]
We accept submissions under the following categories:
Articles
- Comprehensive and in-depth analysis of legal issues
- Word Limit: 4,000 – 8,000 words
Case Comments
- Critical analysis of recent judgments
- Word Limit: 1,500 – 3,000 words
Short Notes
- Concise discussion on emerging legal issues or developments
- Word Limit: 1,000 – 2,000 words
Book Reviews
- Analytical review of recently published legal texts
- Word Limit: 1,000 – 2,000 words
[Submission Requirements]
- Submissions must be original, unpublished, and not under consideration elsewhere
- Co-authorship is permitted (maximum two authors)
- Manuscripts must be submitted in .doc or .docx format
- The file must not contain any author-identifying information (for blind review)
[Formatting Guidelines]
General Format
- Font: Times New Roman
- Font Size:
- Main Text: 12 pt
- Footnotes: 10 pt
- Line Spacing: 1.5 (main text), single (footnotes)
- Alignment: Justified
Citation Style
- Use uniform and standard legal citation format
- Preferably follow:
- Bluebook (20th Edition) or
- Indian Law Institute (ILI) style
- All references must be in the form of footnotes (not endnotes)
[Abstract & Keywords]
- Each submission must include:
- An Abstract (150–250 words)
- 4–6 Keywords
[Plagiarism Policy]
- Submissions must be free from plagiarism
- Similarity (if checked) should not exceed 10–15%, excluding citations
- Any form of plagiarism or unethical use of AI-generated content without disclosure will result in rejection
[AI-Generated Content Disclosure]
- If AI tools are used:
- Their use must be clearly disclosed
- Authors remain fully responsible for accuracy, originality, and integrity
[Peer Review Process]
- All submissions undergo a double-blind peer review process
- Review criteria include:
- Originality
- Legal relevance
- Analytical depth
- Clarity and structure
- The Editorial Board reserves the right to:
- Accept
- Reject
- Request revisions
[Publication Ethics]
Authors must ensure:
- No plagiarism or data fabrication
- Proper acknowledgment of sources
- No simultaneous submissions
SLJ follows standard principles of publication ethics and academic integrity.

- Upon acceptance, authors may be required to:
- Sign a Copyright Declaration Form
- The Journal reserves the right to:
- Publish the work in print and digital formats
Authors retain moral rights over their work.
